Weekend Food Bags
Black Lake Elementary partners with the Thurston County Food Bank’s FORKids Program to provide nutritious food to students over the weekend when school meals are unavailable. This program aims to support students’ growing bodies and minds. The FORKids meal bags contain nonperishable snacks and meals. School staff will discreetly put the FORKids bags into your student’s backpack at the end of each week. On occasion, fresh produce may be included. Please check your student’s backpack each week.
Participation in the FORKids Program is confidential and entirely free of charge. Our school does not share any names or other identifying information with the Thurston County Food Bank.
If you would like your student to receive a FORKids bag, please fill out the following information and return the form to designated location. Younger siblings at home are also eligible to receive FORKids bags. If you have a child in middle school or high school, please ask their school counselor about a similar weekend backpack program called All Kids Win.
Deliveries will go home on Thursdays and Fridays.
