Assistant Principal

Hi there! For those who don’t know me, I’m Avery Butler. I’ve had the pleasure of teaching at Black Lake for the past six years, in both 2nd and 5th grade, and I’m thrilled to step into a new role as your assistant principal at BLE!

After 11 wonderful years in the classroom, deciding to transition was not easy—but I’m so excited for the opportunity to support even more of our amazing students across the school.

Outside of school, I love reading, hiking, traveling, and cheering on the WSU Cougars! I also enjoy going on new adventures and spending quality time with my incredible family.

This year is going to be fantastic—I can’t wait to see you all soon!
